Choose the Company Name
The first step in the process is selecting a name that reflects the business, is unique, and meets MCA’s naming conventions. The name should not be identical or similar to any existing company, trademark, or LLP.
Check Name Availability
Use the MCA’s ‘Check Company Name Availability’ tool to verify if the proposed name is available or already registered.
Prepare Documents

File RUN (Reserve Unique Name) Application
The proposed name(s) are submitted through the RUN application on the MCA portal. You can submit up to two names for approval in one application.
MCA Name Approval
The MCA will review the name and, if the name complies with all requirements, will approve it. If the name is not available or does not comply with the guidelines, you will be required to submit new names.
Receive Name Approval Certificate
Once the name is approved, the Ministry issues a Name Approval Certificate. This certificate is valid for 60 days, within which the company must be incorporated.
Proceed with Company Registration
With the approved name, you can proceed with registering your company (Private Limited, OPC, etc.) with the MCA.
